Hughes Springs Edges Arp

HUGHES SPRINGS--Hughes Springs barely defeated Arp on Friday 22-21.

Isaiah Bolden scored the winning touchdown from a yard out to improve the Mustangs to 2-0. Meanwhile, Arp fell to 0-2.

Arp went into the fourth quarter with a 21-14 lead after a 20-yard touchdown reception from DeMarvion Overshown. Overshown also had a fumble return for a touchdown and a 60-yard run for a score.

Andrew Gaul led the Mustangs, passing for 140 yards and two touchdowns.

Arp will host Alto next Friday, while Hughes Springs visits Paul Pewitt.
