Iowa State First to Offer Pine Tree’s JJ Sparkman
The first Division I FBS scholarship offer arrived Monday for Pine Tree 2020 wide receiver JJ Sparkman.
The Pirates' standout announced via Twitter that Iowa State has offered.
Sparkman (6-4, 185) became the 13th player from East Texas' 2020 recruiting class to receive at least one FBS offer.
Last season, Sparkman caught 26 passes for 475 yards and two touchdowns. The Pirates were 3-8 in 2017 and advanced to the bi-district round of the Class 5A Division II playoffs.
Iowa State competes in the Big 12 Conference and is coached by Matt Campbell. The Cyclones were 8-5 overall and 5-4 in league play last season.
Sparkman, like all sophomores, is first eligible to sign with any program that offers him in December of 2019.
