NEW BOSTON -- Another game, another shutout for the Jefferson Bulldogs.

Jefferson capitalized on eight turnovers and Trey Hodge threw two touchdowns in the Bulldogs' 63-0 rout of New Boston on Friday night, which was Jefferson's third consecutive shutout.

Following 56-0 and 62-0 wins over Frankston and Clarksville, respectively, Jefferson now has outscored its last three opponents 181-0. The Bulldogs sit at 6-0 on the season and 1-0 in District 8-3A Division I going into next week's game against Hughes Springs.

The Bulldogs recovered five New Boston fumbles and intercepted three passes, and the defense scored two touchdowns in a 40-point second quarter. Trace Smith returned a fumble 6 yards for a touchdown after a blocked kick, and Eric Gipson returned an interception 20 yards for a score.

Jefferson quarterback Trey Hodge completed 8 of 12 passes for 174 yards and two touchdowns, one a 30-yarder to Kepha Luster and a 5-yarder to Demionte Mitchell. Both touchdowns came in the Bulldogs' explosive second quarter, which ended with Jefferson up 49-0 at halftime.

Malik Cannon rushed three times for 99 yards, including a 73-yard touchdown, in Jefferson's win.

New Boston (0-6, 0-1) remained winless on the season with the loss.
