Tyler Cherry had an eye for the ball on Friday.

Cherry, a defensive lineman for Jefferson, recovered three fumbles and forced one in the Bulldogs' 62-7 victory against Redwater to close the season. He also had nine tackles, including one for loss and two quarterback hurries.

He is the ETSN.fm + Dairy Queen Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts. He follows Pittsburg's Keontae Burns, who took the award in Week 10.

Jefferson finished with regular season 10-0 and enters the playoffs as the District 7-3A Division I champions. The Bulldogs draw Mineola (6-3) in the first round at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Pine Tree's Pirate Stadium in Longview.
