LONGVIEW -- Junior Jobie Ainsworth turned in a career night for the New Diana Eagles in their 50-21 trouncing of the Harleton Wildcats on Saturday night at Lobo Stadium.

Ainsworth rushed for 163 yards, scored three times and passed for 81 yards and another touchdown as the Eagles stormed out to a comfortable 31-14 halftime lead and coasted in the second half.

New Diana, which had 455 total yards, posted scores in all four quarters and improved to 2-0 on the season. Harleton (1-1) mustered only 129 yards of offense.

New Diana's Garrett Barton also eclipsed the century mark and finished with 153 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries. One of Barton's scores came on a 67-yard sprint on an option pitch from Ainsworth midway through the second quarter.

The Eagles scored twice in the first quarter when Ainsworth and K.J. Jeffrey paired up on a 51-yard touchdown strike. Ainsworth accounted for the next two touchdowns as New Diana jumped to a 21-0 advantage.

A bright spot for Harleton came when Jed Smith took a kickoff back 82 yards for a touchdown. The Wildcats also registered points when Taylor Henson and Matthew Bullock teamed up for a 46-yard scoring play as the first half drew to a close.

New Diana is off this coming week, while Harleton visit Alba-Golden at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
