WHITEHOUSE – Cooper Clemons drilled a 29-yard field goal with 39 seconds remaining to deliver the Whitehouse Wildcats a thrilling 45-43 win over Pine Tree on Friday night.

Whitehouse (6-2, 4-1 in District 9-5A Division II) survived the back-and-forth affair despite allowing Pine Tree (4-4, 2-3) 29 consecutive points after it led, 29-7, in the opening half.

DJ Freeman tossed a touchdown pass to Da’Von Coleman, then ripped off a 42-yard scoring run to cut Whitehouse’s lead to 29-21 at halftime.

Pine Tree took the lead in the third quarter on a 63-yard pass from Freeman to JJ Sparkman, and a 6-yard touchdown run by Keshon Williams.

Jaden Haskins’ 7-yard touchdown run for Whitehouse tied the game, 36-36.

Both teams are back in action next Friday night. Pine Tree travels to Lindale, while Whitehouse plays at Marshall.
