TERRELL -- Terrell managed to open up their offense in the second half en route to a 38-14 non-district win against Lindale at Memorial Stadium.

Both teams struggled through a sluggish first half, which featured lots of penalties on both teams that consistently stymied offensive momentum.

The Tigers (3-1) grabbed a 3-0 lead with a 34 -yard field goal from Bryan Lara. After forcing a Lindale punt, the Tigers struck for their first touchdown when quarterback Tiyea Zanders raced in from 10 yards.

As the second half got under way, the Eagles (1-3) began to build some momentum.

Quarterback Montana Meador guided his club from his 14-yard line to the Terrell 19. The Tigers aided the drive by committing several penalties, including a personal foul against Marqueece Jackson.

The personal foul gave the Eagles first down at the Terrell 5-yard line. Meador scored the next play.

The Tigers then assumed control their next drive, marching 69 yards in 11 plays with the payoff coming on an 18-yard score from Zanders.

Terrell added a late third period score and padded its lead to 31-7 with 10:08 left in the game on a 66-yard scoring sprint from Markel Savala.

The Eagles managed their second touchdown when Meador found Cameron Sir Louis on an 8-yard scoring pass.

Terrell will open District 8-4A Division II play next Friday against Kaufman. Lindale simultaneously hosts Gladewater for its final non-district game.
