RUSTON, La. -- Longview scored three unanswered touchdowns in the second quarter on a trip to Louisiana on Friday night but that wasn't quite enough to stymie a relentless showing from the Ruston Bearcats.

Three more in the final 18 minutes, however, was more than the Lobos needed.

Haynes King connected with three different receivers for touchdown tosses as Longview stayed unblemished on the season with a 56-28 win over Ruston at James Field on Friday night.

King had three touchdown passes to Kamden Perry and hit Keilyn Williams and Jessie Anderson on the other two in a 330-yard night passing game from the junior, who also hauled in a touchdown catch on a Lobo trick play from JD Williams.

Perry hauled in 175 yards on the night with touchdown strikes of 64, 10 and 39 yards. Williams and Anderson, who combined for 140 yards rushing, had 87 yards and 29 yards receiving, respectively.

Ruston took a 13-7 lead midway through the second quarter before King connected with Perry twice and Williams once for a 28-13 Longview advantage on the scoreboard at intermission.

The two teams traded touchdowns in the third quarter but a stop from the Lobo defense forced a Ruston field goal for a 42-28 Longview lead heading into the fourth.

Anderson boomed in on a short-yard touchdown and Kaden Meredith capped Longview's 56-point outburst with fourth-quarter scores.

Ruston finished with 301 rushing yards and 231 through the air in the loss.
Longview travels to Rockwall next.
