Longview Dominates South Oak Cliff to Improve to 3-0
LONGVIEW -- Another strong showing from the Lobo defense has Longview off to a 3-0 start to the season.
After South Oak Cliff hit paydirt first, that was all for the visiting Golden Bears on Friday night at Lobo Stadium.
The Longview defense shut out South Oak Cliff the rest of the way and the Lobo offense got things going both on the ground and through the air in a 38-7 win.
Jordan Lawson passed for 195 yards and two touchdowns and the Lobos used a handful of backs en route to a 229-yard night on the ground.
Keilyn Williams finished with 97 yards and a touchdown. Jaquan Edwards and Nigel Foster added rushing touchdowns for the Lobos, who had four ball carriers with at least 30 yards.
Jaylin Brown and Paul Hutchins both pulled down touchdown passes from Lawson in the win for Longview. Jacob Johnson totaled 92 yards on five catches and Daquavion Randall had 57 yards on four grabs.
Haynes King added 105 passing yards, giving Longview 300 total yards in the air.
South Oak Cliff finished with 169 total yards of offense against the Lobo defense, who finished with three shutout quarters.
Roshodrick Harmon had an interception and Chris Kessler connected on a 39-yard field goal for Longview, which visits Mesquite Horn next week in the District 11-6A opener.
