Longview's Haynes King Reportedly Adds New Offer

One of East Texas' top talents reportedly received a new Division I FBS scholarship offer on Tuesday.

Longview 2020 quarterback Haynes King was offered by Tulsa, first reported by Gabe Brooks of 247Sports.com.

Tulsa is the eighth FBS opportunity for King (6-3, 180), who holds additional offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Houston, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana-Monroe, Southern Miss, and Texas State.

King and the sixth-ranked Lobos (5-0, 1-0 in District 11-6A) are off to a fast start in 2018. The Longview quarterback, who is 15-1 as a starter, has thrown for 1,346 yards with 14 touchdowns and no interceptions this season. He has an additional 203 yards and two TD's on the ground.

Longview has a bye this week before resuming district play Oct. 12 at home against Mesquite Horn.

Tulsa is a member of the American Athletic Conference, and is coached by Phillip Montgomery, a Texas native who had high school coaching stops in Celeste, Stephenville, and Denton before serving as a college assistant at both Houston and Baylor.

The Golden Hurricane is 1-3 overall and 0-1 in conference play in 2018.

King, like all juniors, is first eligible to sign with any program that offers him in December of 2019.
