Longview’s Marcus Williams Commits to TCU

It didn't take long for Longview's Marcus Williams to pull the trigger after receiving a new offer on Monday evening.

Williams told 247sports.com that he received an offer from and committed to TCU.

The Lobos lineman became the second 2019 East Texas prospect to commit, joining Whitehouse WR and Texas Tech pledge Cameron Cantrell.

Williams (6-6, 285) chose the Horned Frogs over other offers from Baylor, Houston, SMU, Southern Miss, and Texas State.

TCU also has offers to four other East Texans in the 2019 class -- Newton RB Darwin Barlow, Newton ATH Tamauzia Brown, Newton ATH Josh Foster, and Lufkin DT Carl Williams.

Williams is the sixth 2019 commitment for TCU. The Frogs signed two East Texans in the 2017 class -- Texas High WR Tevailance Hunt and Van OT Kris Dike.

The Horned Frogs were 11-3 overall and 7-2 in Big 12 play last season under head coach Gary Patterson, who will be entering his 18th season at TCU in the fall.

Williams has started on the Longview offensive line since his sophomore season. He anchored a unit that helped the Lobos reach the state semifinals last year for the first time since 2010.

Like all juniors, Williams can first sign with any Division I program that offers in December of 2018.
