Lufkin senior safety Jeremiah Davis had his high school career ended lat Saturday afternoon at Stephen F. Austin's Homer Bryce Stadium in Nacogdoches.

And on Wednesday morning, he received a Division I scholarship offer from SFA, Davis reported via Twitter.

Davis, who re-opened his recruitment after de-committing from Louisiana-Lafayette earlier in the week, has now received offers from Midwestern State and SFA since.

The Panthers' standout played an integral role in Lufkin's best season since 2005. Davis finished the year with 80 tackles (three for loss), four forced fumbles, and two interceptions in leading Lufkin to an 11-3 record and a berth in the Class 6A Division II, Region II finals.

SFA is a member of the Southland Conference and is coached by Clint Conque. The Lumberjacks finished 2017 with an overall record of 4-7 (4-5 in conference play).

Davis, like all seniors, is first eligible to sign with any program that offers him during the 72-hour early signing period from Dec. 20-22. Or he may sign on National Signing Day, which is scheduled for Feb. 7, 2018.
