MARSHALL -- The Mavericks completed a rout of Hallsville, 50-21 on Friday evening.

The victory improved Marshall to 2-0 in District 9-5A Division II and 3-2 overall.

The Mavericks scored the game's first five touchdowns, beginning with a 52-yard bomb from JJ Green to Tahj Washington. Washington would finish as the leading receiver, with five receptions for 130 yards.

Green passed for 223 yards and three touchdowns in the victory. Small Boyd finished with 101 yards passing and Tristan Driggers had 86 yards rushing along with a touchdown for Hallsville (3-2, 0-2).

Marshall will next face Mount Pleasant at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Mount Pleasant. Hallsville will seek its first district victory when it faces Lindale at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Hallsville.
