Marshall's offensive line is adding to its preseason lore day after day.

North Texas and Louisiana-Monroe reached out to left tackle Kameron King on Monday and became the second and third NCAA Division I FBS programs to do so. King, who reported the news via Twitter, plays right next to LSU guard commitment and national target Chasen Hines.

King (6-3, 270) helped Marshall’s offense to 3,939 total yards in an 11-game campaign this past season. As a sophomore, he was part of an offense that put up 5,401 total yards and went to the third round in the Class 5A Division I state playoffs.

Expectations for Marshall have jumped a bit since the end of 2016. Former SMU running backs coach Claude Mathis left his collegiate job for the position in deep East Texas.

Mathis was a highly-regarded high school coach before taking the job at SMU. He owned a 74-18 record at DeSoto through seven seasons and reached the state semifinal level in 2012 and 2013 at what is now known as the Class 6A Division I level.

North Texas is in a similarly good preseason spot with second-year coach Seth Littrell. The program most recently went 5-7 through the regular season, a four-win improvement compared to Dan McCarney's final team, and reached the Heart of Dallas Bowl due to a lack of bowl eligible teams and one of the nation's highest APR scores.

APR scores are determined by how many athletes on a particular team finish degrees while part of the team.

King marks the 10th local rising senior prospect on the Mean Green's board. Two local players pledged to the program in the past cycle.

ULM went 4-8 last season under first-year coach Matt Viator, who took the role after leading McNeese State to a fifth FCS playoffs appearance in nine seasons. Two of the losses came on the road against Auburn and Oklahoma.

King is the Warhawks program's sixth local 2018 target.

Like all college football prospects currently in their junior year of high school, King will first become eligible to sign with any program that offers him in December.
