DaRyan Williams won't have much distance to travel when he packs his bags for college.

Williams, a 2018 defensive back from Nacogdoches, announced his commitment to Stephen F. Austin via Twitter on Monday.

Williams chose the Lumberjacks over offers from Texas State, Tulane and Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Nacogdoches finished the 2017 season 1-9. Stephen F. Austin's campus is also in Nacogdoches.

The Lumberjacks compete in the Southland Conference of the NCAA's Division I FCS subdivision. They finished the season with a record of 4-7.

Williams, like all seniors, can sign with any team that offers him on National Signing Day, set for Feb. 7. His commitment to the Lumberjacks is merely verbal at this point.
