Newton’s Tamauzia Brown Offered By Oregon
Newton's dynamic two-way athlete Tamauzia Brown is inching closer to 20 Division I FBS scholarship offers.
On Monday, Brown (6-1, 170) picked up No. 18 from the University of Oregon, he reported via Twitter.
The 2019 WR/CB also holds major offers from Arkansas, Baylor, Houston, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, TCU, and Texas Tech.
Last season in helping Newton win the Class 3A Division II state championship, Brown starred on both sides of the ball. He finished as East Texas' interceptions leader with 12, while also posting a combined 1,432 yards rushing and receiving and 18 total touchdowns.
Oregon, a member of the Pac-12 Conference, is led by new head coach Mario Cristobal, who took over after Willie Taggert accepted the same position at Florida State. The Ducks were 7-5 overall an 4-5 in conference play last season.
Brown, like all juniors, can first sign with any team that offers him in December.
