No. 1 Carthage Blanks Henderson, 34-0, For 35th Consecutive Win
HENDERSON -- The top-ranked Carthage Bulldogs wrapped up the top seed from District 10-4A Division I with a 34-0 rout of rival Henderson on Friday night.
The two-time defending state champion Bulldogs (9-0, 4-0) also extended their winning streak to 35 games, the longest currently in the state.
Four Carthage players -- Kelvontay Dixon, Mason Courtney, Kavonte Brown-Hoskins, and Tucker Smith -- rushed for at least 52 yards on the night.
Dixon rushed for 83 yards, and caught seven passes for 71 yards. Quarterback Gunner Capps threw for 127 yards.
Both teams conclude the regular season next Friday night. Henderson (6-3, 3-1) plays at Van, while Carthage plays host to Kilgore.
