No. 1 Carthage Ups Streak to 38 Games + Rolls to 46-0 Shutout
LUFKIN — Gunner Capps passed for two touchdowns, Mason Courtney ran for two, and the No. 1 Carthage Bulldogs rolled to a 46-0 shutout of Huffman Hargave in their Class 4A Division I area playoff Friday night.
Carthage (12-0), the two-time defending state champs, ran its winning streak to 38 games and will face Midlothian Heritage (11-1) in a Region III semifinal at 7:30 p.m. next Friday from the Ford Center in Frisco.
The Carthage defense also picked off four passes on the night.
Kelvontay Dixon finished with seven catches for 154 yards, including a highlight-reel 72-yard touchdown catch and run in the second quarter.
Huffman Hargrave finished its season at 6-6.
