Wiley finished the 2017 season as the Pirates' leading tackler with 100 tackles. He also has 23 tackles for loss and 13 sacks. Pine Tree finished 3-8, falling in the first round of the playoffs to North Forney.

He also held offers from Incarnate Word and Alcorn State.

Missouri State finished the season with a 3-8 record. The Bears compete in the Missouri Valley Conference of the NCAA's Division I FCS subdivision.
