Pittsburg Pulls Away From Pine Tree in Second Half
PITTSBURG -- The Pittsburg Pirates scored 13 unanswered points after halftime, taking down Pine Tree, 27-16, Friday night at Pirate Stadium.
Pittsburg (1-1) quarterback Jaylon Jimmerson passed for four touchdowns, including a pair of strikes to Keithlen Griffin in the second half, and added 90 rushing yards.
Pirates receiver Keontae Burns had two touchdowns receptions in the first half for Pittsburg.
Pine Tree (1-1) quarterback DJ Freeman accounted for both of his team's touchdowns.
The season continues for both teams next Friday night. Pine Tree hosts Kilgore, while Pittsburg visits Tatum.
