Pleasant Grove Uses Big Second Half to Take Down Spring Hill, 48-31
LONGVIEW -- TJ Cole ran for 225 yards and two touchdowns and No. 9 Pleasant Grove erupted in the second half to beat Spring Hill, 48-31, on Friday night in a District 7-4A Division II matchup.
The Hawks (9-0, 4-0) outscored Spring Hill 27-15 in the second half after taking a 21-16 lead into the break.
Chauncey Martin scored two second-half touchdowns while quarterback Ben Harmon and Josh Roberts also reached paydirt in a fourth quarter that saw Pleasant Grove outscore the Panthers (5-4, 0-4) 20-7.
Martin finished with nine carries in the game while Harmon went 3 of 4 passing for 103 yards, with all three completions going to Xavier Benson, who also opened the game with a 38-yard touchdown catch.
Kiante Stoker rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries for Spring Hill, while quarterback Gage White ran for 108 yards and a touchdown and Zach Tulpa ran for 45 yards and a score.
