Pleasant Grove sophomore defensive end Landon Jackson took an unofficial trip to Austin on Saturday night for Texas' game with Tulsa, and is coming home with a new offer.

Jackson (6-5, 212) announced via Twitter that the Longhorns have offered.

The Hawks' pass-rusher now has nine Division I FBS scholarship offers. In addition to Texas, Jackson has offers from Arkansas, Baylor, Kansas, Southern Miss, Texas A&M, Texas State, Texas Tech, and Tulsa.

In helping lead Pleasant Grove to its first-ever football state championship in 2017, Jackson enjoyed breakout success.

Jackson finished his freshman year with 98 tackles (16 for loss), 11.5 sacks, 23 QB pressures, three forced fumbles, an interception, and six pass break-ups. He was part of a dominant defensive front that carried Pleasant Grove to a 16-0 record and the 4A Division II state title.

Pleasant Grove is 2-0 this season with wins over Paris and Henderson.

Texas is in its second year under head coach Tom Herman. The Longhorns are 1-1 after earning a 28-21 win over Tulsa on Saturday night.

Jackson, like all sophomores, is first eligible to sign with any program that offers him in December of 2020.
