Landon Jackson has a few years before he reaches college, but big-time scholarship offers are already coming in.

Jackson, a 2021 DE at Pleasant Grove, tweeted Thursday that Arkansas became the third school to offer him. Texas A&M and Texas State are the others.

A few hours later, Texas Tech became the fourth.

In helping lead Pleasant Grove to its first-ever football state championship in 2017, Jackson enjoyed breakout success.

Jackson finished his freshman year with 98 tackles (16 for loss), 11.5 sacks, 23 QB pressures, three forced fumbles, an interception, and six pass break-ups. He was part of a dominant defensive front that carried Pleasant Grove to a 16-0 record and the 4A Division II state title.

Chad Morris is entering his first season as coach of the Razorbacks. He brings with him former Gilmer coach and East Texas native Jeff Traylor. Arkansas competes in the SEC and finished 4-8 this past season.

Texas Tech competes in the Big 12 and Pleasant Grove linebacker Xavier Benson, who was a senior this past season, is committed to play there. The Red Raiders finished 6-7, falling to South Florida in the Birmingham Bowl.

Jackson, like all freshman, is first eligible to sign with any team that offers him in December 2020.
