WHITEHOUSE -- The Whitehouse LadyCats earned a 25-17, 25-15, 25-17 sweep of Nacogdoches in District 16-5A volleyball action Tuesday night.

EMORY -- No. 25 Rains kicked off District 14-4A play the right way with a narrow, 29-27, 25-22, 17-25, 23-25, 15-13 victory against Canton. Ashley Gowin played a big role on defense with 30 digs as did Courtney Luckett and Charlotte Bradshaw with 28 digs apiece in the victory.

TYLER -- Tyler All Saints moved to 5-1 in TAPPS District 2-4A with a three-set win against local rival Tyler Grace Community. The Trojans took the match, 25-12, 25-12, 25-20.

District 11-2A Division II delivered some thrills last season and 2015 appears to be an even better year across the league. Fruitvale is in its second consecutive season as an 11-man program and an athletic Mount Enterprise has the pieces to make a run barring injuries ...

WASKOM -- Six players scored in double figures, leading No. 21 Waskom to an 82-20 rout of New Diana on Friday night, keeping the Wildcats unbeaten in District 17-3A.

TYLER -- Judah Bell had a fantastic night for Bishop Gorman with 29 points, but Tyler Grace Community was able to hold the rest of the Crusaders team to nine total points en route to a 56-38 win in TAPPS District 2-4A. WHITEHOUSE -- The LadyCats moved to 23-10 and 6-0 in District 16-5A play Friday with a 25-12, 25-16, 25-13 sweep of Lufkin. Ashton Ates led the way for Whitehouse with 15 kills and four blocks. Ronnie Fountain played a big role offensive with 32 assists in the three-set match. Megan Harris and Kelly Keller each scored on seven kills, and they combined for 15 digs.

Tenaha has lost seven games since winning the Class A Division II state championship in 2011, but none of them have come in district.
