WASKOM -- Six players scored in double figures, leading No. 21 Waskom to an 82-20 rout of New Diana on Friday night, keeping the Wildcats unbeaten in District 17-3A.

Junebug Johnson led Waskom (11-5, 7-0) with 15 points. Kevin Johnson and Mike Reason added 13 points apiece, Chan Amie and Kaleb Haynes each had 12 points, and Keileon Johnson chipped in with 10 points.

Each teams return to the court Tuesday. Waskom travels to White Oak, while New Diana (0-7 in district) plays host to Elysian Fields.

 

Frankston Keeps Rolling

FRANKSTON -- The Frankston Indians remained perfect in District 18-3A with an easy 62-35 win over Eustace on Friday night.

Ozzie Buckner paced the Frankston (21-4, 11-0) victory with 21 points, which included a pair of 3-pointers. Kendrick Rogers added 15 points and four rebounds, while Justice Bean provided 12 points and four boards.

The season resumes for each team Tuesday. Frankston hosts Arp, and Eustace (2-9 in district) entertains Corsicana Mildred.

 

GIRLS

Henderson Knocks Off No. 7 Tatum

HENDERSON -- The Henderson Lady Lions scored a 55-51 double-overtime upset of seventh-ranked Tatum in District 19-4A action Friday.

Nakia McElhanon led Henderson (18-9, 7-1) with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Joy Williams also had a huge night with 15 points and 27 rebounds, while JaKeyah Stewart chipped in with 14 points, four assists, and seven steals.

Tatum (22-3, 6-1) was led in defeat by Alexes Bell, who finished with a game-high 22 points. Brianna Mitchell added 13 points for the Lady Eagles.

Henderson is finished with regular season, while Tatum plays host to Carthage. If Tatum wins, there will be a district playoff for the No. 1 seed in the postseason.

 

No. 9 Martin's Mill Rolls Past Fruitvale

FRUITVALE -- The ninth-ranked Martin's Mill Lady Mustangs cruised to an 87-32 win over Fruitvale on Friday in District 14-2A action.

Cheyenne Brown led the way for Martin's Mill (23-7, 9-0) with 38 points. Hailey Celsur added 12 points, while Briley Moon and Alyssa Pate finished with 10 points apiece.

The Lady Mustangs close out the regular season Tuesday at home against Sulphur Springs North Hopkins.

 

Beckville Too Much For Timpson

BECKVILLE -- Beckville captured a lopsided 51-18 win over Timpson on Friday night in District 22-2A action.

Kimber Wesner led Beckville with 23 points, six rebounds and three steals. Summer Dennis added nine points, four rebounds, five assists and two steals.

The regular season concludes for both teams Tuesday night. Beckville plays at Tenaha, while Timpson hosts Joaquin.
