TYLER -- Tyler All Saints moved to 5-1 in TAPPS District 2-4A with a three-set win against local rival Tyler Grace Community.

The Trojans took the match, 25-12, 25-12, 25-20.

Ferrell Clyde turned in the strongest performance. She scored on 14 kills and added four blocks.

Frances Hackney played a big role with 31 assists for All Saints, setting up Clyde as well as Hanna Waits and Elizabeth Enloe who both recorded eight kills.

The Trojans will be back in action Tuesday at Tyler Bishop Gorman.

 

No. 1 Beckville Sweeps Overton

BECKVILLE -- The Ladycats scored on 16 aces in a quick, 25-19, 25-16, 25-12 win against Gary in district play.

Kassidy Alexander, Haley Gregory and Kimber Wesner each recorded four aces in the match. The team won 58 percent of the points it served.

Carley Lawhorn had the best night with balls in play. She scored a team-best 10 kills.

The victory elevated Beckville to 22-5 overall and 2-0 in district.

 

Carlisle Cruises Against Shelbyville

SHELBYVILLE -- Carlisle made it home in time for dinner.

The Lady Indians made quick work of Shelbyville with a three-set sweep, 25-10, 25-5, 25-8.

Julie Smith led Carlisle (17-10) with 11 total points. She recorded six kills and five aces in the match.

Haley Fears had an even better serving day, however. She scored seven aces.

Carlisle will next visit Leverret's Chapel at 4:30 p.m. Friday.

 

Winona Survives Gladewater On The Road

GLADEWATER -- Daysha Hanson's individual performance was one to remember in a tough, 16-25, 25-9, 25-21, 19-25, 15-12 Winona win at Gladewater.

Hanson put up 14 points on kills, helped score another 23 points on assists and saved 18 points with digs in the five-set match. Nichole Garrett came very close to matching Hanson with 13 kills and 23 assists of her own.

Jazmone Hanson recorded nine kills while Janeth Tarango got a team-best 27 digs.

 

Rains Sweeps Quinlan Ford

EMORY -- The Lady Cats enjoyed a fairly easy win Tuesday.

Rains took down Quinlan Ford, 25-9, 25-9, 25-5.

Charlotte Bradshaw and Ashley Gowin combined for 19 kills in the match. Corley Cole and Shelbi Sheppard recorded double-digit assist counts with 18 and 14, respectively.

Courtney Luckett had a team-best eight aces.

 

Gary Tops Timpson

GARY -- Leann Youngblood helped guide the Lady Cats to a 25-17, 25-8, 25-19 win against Timpson.

The sophomore scored nine kills and three aces in the match for a total of 12 points.

Gary will visit Shelbyville on Friday.

 

Quitman Beats Harmony In Four Sets

QUITMAN -- The Lady Bulldogs started off district play the right way with a 25-16, 20-25, 25-20, 25-18 home win against Harmony.

Sophomore Cammie Hicks led the way with 40 assists in the match. Dawn Houck led well-rounded offensive production with 13 kills.

Kaci Raley scored 11 points in the match, nine kills and two aces, in addition to leading the team in digs with 27.

Quitman (12-15, 1-0) will take square off with Alba-Golden at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
