Texas Southern First to Offer Jacksonville’s Braelyn Riden
The first Division I scholarship offer has arrived for Jacksonville 2019 defensive back Braelyn Riden.
The Indians' prospect announced via Twitter that Texas Southern has offered.
Riden (6-1, 170) enjoyed breakout success lsat season. He finished with six interceptions and five forced fumbles for Jacksonville, which reached the playoffs with a 6-5 record.
The Indians ultimately fell to eventual 4A Division II state champion College Station in the first round of the playoffs.
Texas Southern, located in Houston, is an FCS school and a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference. The Tigers are coached by Michael Haywood and were 2-9 overall in 2017.
Riden, like all juniors, is first eligible to sign with any Division I program that offers in December.
