Devon King hit a milestone Thursday.

King, a 2020 OL from Gilmer, tweeted that Texas State became the first team to offer him a football scholarship.

King was part of an offensive line that helped Gilmer average 519 yards per game last season (275.1 passing and 243.9 rushing).

Texas State competes in the Sun Belt Conference and finished 2017 with a 2-10 record.

King, like all sophomores, is first eligible to sign with any team that offers him beginning in December 2019.
