Texas State Offers Marshall’s Chasen Hines
One of the state's top offensive lineman earned his 12th Division I FBS scholarship offer on Sunday afternoon.
Marshall's Chasen Hines reported via Twitter that he has received an offer from Texas State.
Hines (6-3, 340), who projects as a center or guard at the next level, also holds offers from Baylor, Louisiana Tech, LSU, Minnesota, North Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech.
He recently released a top 5 list, naming LSU, Oklahoma, TCU, Texas, and Texas A&M as finalists.
Texas State, which held a Junior Day event this weekend in San Marcos, offered fellow 2018 East Texas prospect -- John Tyler DE/OLB Dekalen Goodson -- on Saturday.
Hines helped Marshall’s offense to 3,939 total yards in an 11-game 2016 season. As a sophomore, he was part of an offense that put up 5,401 total yards and drove the team to a third-round appearance in the Class 5A Division I state playoffs.
Texas State was 2-10 last season in the first year under head coach Everett Withers. The Bobcats, who compete in the WAC, have been down of late, going 22-38 since 2011.
Hines, like all college football prospects currently in their junior year of high school, will become eligible to sign with any school that offers him in February of 2018.
