MESQUITE -- Mesquite running back Chance Fisher pulled in a 46-yard touchdown on fourth down with 42 seconds left and then caught a two-point conversion to hand Tyler Lee a 57-56 loss Friday at E.H. Hanby Stadium.

The meeting was a battle of two teams seeking their first win within District 11-6A and, with the loss, the Red Raiders fell into the eighth and final spot in the standings with three games remaining on its schedule.

Lee (2-5, 0-4) was tied at halftime, 28-28, and never trailed in the second half before Fisher scored Mesquite's two-point conversion in the final minute. At the same time, it never was able to assert a two-possession lead.

Both teams committed one turnover in the game.

Red Raiders running back Ladarius Wickware led the team with five touchdowns and 261 yards on just 19 carries. Quarterback Chance Amie scored twice on the ground and once through the air toward 270 total yards.

Fisher ran 21 times for 210 yards -- an average of 10 yards per touch -- and scored four times on the ground before catching the pass that set up the winning conversion.

Mesquite (3-4, 1-3), which is now seventh in the eight-team district, will travel to Rockwall-Heath next week. Lee returns to East Texas to host Rockwall.
