Van Suffers First Loss of Season to Kaufman
KAUFMAN -- The Lions used a big second half to hand Van its first loss of the season, 43-35 on Friday.
Kaufman came up with more than 200 yards in the second half. It also got big plays, first an interception and then a touchdown reception, from Cecil Gasper to pull away.
Quarterback Garrett Moseley finished with 215 yards and four touchdowns for the Vandals, but also threw a costly two interceptions. Meanwhile, Kaufman quarterback Tre Collier threw for 108 yards and ran for 285 yards and finished with five total touchdowns.
The Vandals fell to 8-1 and 4-1 in District 8-4A. Kaufman clinched the district title with the victory.
Van will get a chance to rebound next Friday, when it closes its regular season with a game against Terrell at 7:30 p.m.
