WHITEHOUSE – Flint Herrington passed for 314 yards and two touchdowns, Peyton Kennedy scored five touchdowns, and Whitehouse rolled to a 50-28 win over Henderson in both teams’ season opener Friday night at Wildcat Stadium.

The result made a winner out of first-year head coach Marcus Gold in his Whitehouse (1-0) debut.

Kennedy rushed for four touchdowns, including a 46-yarder, and returned an interception 20 yards for a score.

Herrington completed 15 of 21 attempts, while KJ Johnson finished with 205 yards on five receptions.

Kevin Fields led Henderson (0-1) on offense with 68 yards on 16 rushing attempts.

Whitehouse faces Chapel Hill next Thursday from Tyler’s Rose Stadium, while Henderson travels to defending state champion Pleasant Grove.
