Whitehouse Rallies in Fourth Quarter to Stun Nacogdoches, 35-31
NACOGDOCHES -- The Whitehouse Wildcats scored 22 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to stun Nacogdoches, 35-31, Friday night at Dragon Stadium to remain unbeaten in District 9-5A Division II.
Flint Herrington's 24-yard touchdown pass to Kendrion Johnson with 1:35 remaining completed the comeback for Whitehouse (5-1, 3-0).
Nacogdoches (2-4, 1-2) built a 31-13 lead early in the fourth on a Tarance Swindle 72-yard touchdown, but Whitehouse closed the game with three consecutive scoring drives.
The Dragons had a chance to win it late, but Jake Smith's 8-yard pass into the end zone fell incomplete as time expired.
Herrington finished the night with 345 yards passing and the three fourth-quarter touchdowns, two of which went Johnson and the other to Texas Tech commit Cameron Cantrell.
Swindle ran for 159 and two touchdowns for Nacogdoches.
Whitehouse plays at Lindale next week, while Nacogdoches travels to Pine Tree.
