KILGORE -- Kolby Blissett and KJ Harkrider each had two hits and RBI, leading Carthage to a 7-5 win over Tyler Lee in five innings Thursday at the Oil Belt Classic at Driller Park.

Blissett was 2-for-2 as was Harkrider, who was making his varsity debut. JayDon Day was 1-for-2 with an RBI for Carthage (6-1)

Brody Colle earned his first win of the season on the mound. He scattered six hits in four innings with two strikeouts and two walks. Blake Bogenschutz pitched the final inning, and after allowing a walk and a double, struck out the final two Lee batters for his first save of the year.

Carthage faces Hallsville, responsible for the Bulldogs' only loss of the season, at 12:15 p.m. Friday. Tyler Lee (5-1), meanwhile, takes on Pine Tree at 7 p.m.

Tatum Earns Win At Elysian Fields Tournament

ELYSIAN FIELDS -- Cade Combs drove in two runs, Justin Danzer pitched five solid innings and the Tatum Eagles scored a 5-2 win over Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill on Thursday at the Elysian Fields tournament.

Combs knocked in both runs during Tatum's three-run second inning. Brett Roberts added a sacrifice fly RBI in the third and Sam Toon finished 2-for-3 in the win.

Danzer allowed two runs and four hits in five innings with seven strikeouts and five walks.

Elysian Fields Notches Pair of Wins At Texas Two-Step Tourney

LONGVIEW -- Elysian Fields took two victories at the Texas Two-Step tournament on Thursday.

EF defeated Woden, 3-0, and Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill, 15-6.

In the win over Woden, Kaylee Prather singled, scored twice and stole three bases. Bailee Fry and Kaycee Bailey drove in runs. Keely Howard (3-1) worked seven shutout innings, striking out three with no walks.

Prather was at it again in the victory over Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill, collecting four hits and scoring four runs. Bailey went 3-for-4 with an RBI, while Montanna Methvin and Jane Harris had two hits and two RBIs apiece.

Fry and Jacey Doyle also added two hits apiece for Elysian Fields.

Harris (5-5) got the win, scattering six hits with four strikeouts and two walks.
