Over the past three decades, the UIL has made it easier to make the playoffs, which has allowed previously unsuccessful programs to put together a few wins and make the postseason once in a while.

The addition of two, three and now four playoff teams per district has ensured that most playoff droughts only last a handul of years at the most.

With that being said, there are still a few programs that have waited quite a while for an elusive trip to the playoffs.

Some have been close in recent years, while others can't seem to break through.
