Josee Ross Lifts Troup Softball to Win in Season Opener
ELKHART — Josee Ross homered and struck out eight on the mound, leading Troup to a 6-0 win over Elkhart on Wednesday in both teams’ season opener.
Ross finished the night 3-for-4 at the plate with three runs scored. On the mound, Ross allowed just one hit and walked one in the complete-game effort.
Katelyn Standley was 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs, Lee Ann Lloyd had two hits and scored twice and Miranda Flora added two RBIs in the win.
Troup (1-0) is in action this weekend at the Carthage tournament. Elkhart (0-1) is participating in the Brownsboro tourney.
