The Longview Lobos will be playing in their first state championship game since 2009, and senior running back Jessie Anderson is main reason why.

Anderson ran 13 times for 112 yards and three touchdowns in the Lobos' 45-42 semifinal win over Amarillo Tascosa last Saturday night.

He had scoring runs of 31, 2, and 2 yards -- all in the first half. Anderson also caught one pass for 32 yards.

For his efforts, Anderson is the ETSN.fm/Dairy Queen Offensive Player of the Week. He follows last week's winner, Newton running back Darwin Barlow.

Anderson has rushed for 1,047 yards and 24 touchdowns this season, while adding 14 receptions for 200 yards and two TD's.

Longview (15-0) will face Beaumont West Brook (13-2) at 3 p.m. Saturday from AT&T Stadium in Arlington for the Class 6A Division II championship.
