Lufkin Gives Pine Tree First Loss of the Season in Thursday’s Lady Lobo Invitational Action

LONGVIEW -- A two-minute span in the second half propelled Lufkin to a 4-2 victory over Pine Tree during the first day of the 2014 Lady Lobo Invitational on Thursday.

After Pine Tree's Lilly Cabrera tied the match 1-1 early in the second half, Lufkin answered with three goals in only two minutes to take control of the contest.

Cabrera scored both of Pine Tree's goals, while Lorena Gonzalez assisted Cabrera's first score. The loss was the first of the season for Pine Tree, which dropped to 5-1 entering Friday's action at the Lady Lobo Invitational.

Lufkin gained an 8-3 shots-on-goal advantage in the win.

Pine Tree faces host Longview at 4 p.m. Friday at Lobo Stadium.
