Ninth-Ranked Martin’s Mill Captures Warmup Game Win Over Dodd City

The Martin's Mill Lady Mustangs tuned up for the playoffs with a 73-56 rout of Dodd City on Saturday.

Martin's Mill (25-7), the champion of District 14-2A, came in ranked No. 9 in Class 2A by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches, while Dodd City is No. 12 in the 1A poll.

Cheyenne Brown, a Northwestern State signee, carried the Lady Mustangs with a 37-point effort. Briley Moon knocked down three 3-pointers and finished with 15 points in the winning effort.

Martin's Mill will receive a bye in the first round of the playoffs and await a bi-district outcome before opening the postseason in the area round next Friday.
