HUGHES SPRNGS -- The Beckville Ladycats rolled to a 25-11, 25-9, 25-10 sweep of Detroit on Thursday night in their Class 2A Region III area-round playoff.
WHITEHOUSE -- Van got over the hump Thursday in its Class 4A area round playoff game against Gilmer.
The Lady Vandals became one of the first teams in the state to punch their ticket into the regional quarterfinal after three straight years of bowing out in the second round of the playoffs. They swept the Lady Buckeyes, 25-17, 25-17, 25-15.
HALLSVILLE -- Texas High took Lindale's best punch in Tuesday's Class 5A bi-district state volleyball playoff match in the form of a 9-2 opening run.

CARTHAGE -- The Whitehouse Ladycats began the postseason with a 23-25, 25-21, 25-23, 25-22 win over Longview in their Class 5A Region II bi-district playoff Tuesday night.
TYLER -- It might not have been up to Hallsville coach Kayla Jackson's standards, but the 15th-ranked Ladycats escaped their Class 5A Region II bi-district playoff match with a clean sweep.
