CARTHAGE -- The Whitehouse Ladycats began the postseason with a 23-25, 25-21, 25-23, 25-22 win over Longview in their Class 5A Region II bi-district playoff Tuesday night.

Whitehouse (28-11) advanced to the area round of the playoffs where the LadyCats will face Mansfield Summit at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Wills Point.

Ashton Ates led the way for Whitehouse with 18 kills and three blocks. Beth Hood added 10 kills and three blocks, Megan Harris had eight kills, and Kelly Keller chipped in with seven kills and 22 digs.

Ronnie Fountain dished out 38 assists to go with three aces, while libero Amanda DImon registered a team-high 23 digs on the night.

 

Gilmer Outlasts Paris

EMORY -- The Gilmer Lady Buckeyes rallied from a 2-1 deficit to earn a 23-25, 25-22, 26-28, 25-23, 15-11 victory over Paris in their Class 4A Region II bi-district playoff Tuesday night.

Gilmer will meet Van at 6 p.m. Thursday at Whitehouse High School in the area round of the playoffs.

Maci Ritter led the Lady Buckeyes with 18 kills and seven blocks. Belynda Ray wasn't far behind with 17 kills and five blocks, Kahriya Williams contributed 13 kills, and Christian Brown had 12 kills to go along with a team-best 31 digs.

Madalyn Woodard had 29 assists and four aces, Jaci Traylor supplied 24 assists and two aces, while the duo of Michela Devendorf and Sommer Hines combined for 44 digs and five aces.
