Celina's full-court defensive pressure, half-court traps, and lights-out shooting from the floor made life miserable for Canton in a 79-50 rout in their Class 4A Region II semifinal Friday night at Texas A&M-Commerce's Field House.

GARLAND -- The ninth-ranked Martin's Mill Lady Mustangs advanced to the regional tournament once again with a 76-28 rout of Honey Grove on Wednesday night in a Class 2A Region II quarterfinal.

WILLS POINT -- It was just one of those nights for John Tyler. The Lady Lions shot about 25 percent from the floor and that was barely enough for Mansfield Lake Ridge to eliminate them for second straight season, a 40-34 decision in Wednesday's Class 5A Region II quarterfinal round game at Wills Point High School.

EMORY -- The Canton Eaglettes scored a 45-39 upset win over No 13 Bullard in a Class 4A Region II quarterfinal playoff Tuesday night.

WILLS POINT -- Longview knew it would have to bring its A-game against Arlington Seguin, the winners of a hugely lopsided 83-9 game against Dallas Spruce in the bi-district round of the Class 5A girls basketball playoffs. Seguin proved to be too much. The Lady Lobos' season ended in the area round with an 80-43 loss on a neutral floor at Wills Point High School.
