LONGVIEW -- Devon Boyd scored three times and Tavian Ray scored twice in pacing the Tatum Eagles to a 45-28 victory over the Spring Hill Panthers in District 6-4A Division II action.

Boyd scored on runs of 28 yards -- capping a 7-play, 67-yard drive) -- and then 9 yards (7-79) and 6 yards (4-81). He finished the night with seven carries for 104 yards.

Ray rushed for 157 yards on 14 carries including TD runs of 10 and 2 yards.

Tatum (4-4, 2-1) led 33-7 at the half but kicking-game miscues gave the Panthers (2-6, 1-2) a chance to get back into it at 33-21 with just over four minutes remaining in the third.

When the Eagles finally ran a play from scrimmage in the third, they put a drive together of 61 yards that boosted the lead to 39-21.

Josh Ivy added a fourth-quarter score, capping an 8-play, 59-yard drive with 5:45 remaining to up the score to 45-21.

Garrett Self led the Spring Hill attack with 164 passing yards, including touchdown passes of 17 yards to Waylon McFadin, 7 to Hagen Tucker, and 10 to Luke Shepperd.

Tavin Hunter got the Panthers on the board first with 10:33 remaining in the first with an 8-yard run, which followed a Tatum turnover.

Tatum added a late second-quarter score following a Panthers fumble, as Chaston Brooks found Martin Williams from 20 yards, and then ran for the two-point conversion.

Spring Hill travels to Gladewater, while the Eagles play at Atlanta next Friday night.
