WHITE OAK --  Behind the duo of Dorothy Swanson and Morgan Baldwin, the White Oak Ladynecks swept the Tatum Lady Eagles, 25-12 25-9 25-15, in District 17-2A play Tuesday night.

Swanson filled the stat line with 13 kills, 10 digs, four aces and one block. Baldwin chipped in with 18 assists and one kill for the Ladynecks. Senior middle blocker Rebecca Green added six kills to go with two blocks.

"Our goal was to keep them to 15 points or under, and I think they got to 15 once, so overall I was very pleased with our performance," White Oak coach Carolee Musick said.

White Oak (23-4, 2-0) sophomore Taylor Tramel had a coming-out party with seven kills and two aces.

"She doesn't know yet how good she can be," Musick said of Tramel. "And when she figures it out, people are going to be in trouble.

The Lady Eagles (10-12, 1-1) were led by 6-3 junior middle blocker Kayla Starling, who had three blocks and four kills. Junior setter Rikki Glezen had five assists and two digs, while libero Kiana Turner also had nine digs.

"We didn't really get a chance to use our guns, and when we did you could tell a big difference," Tatum coach She-Ron Deloach said. "We are very athletic, we can jump, but we have to start picking our face up."

White Oak travels to Jefferson on Friday, while Tatum visits New Diana.
