The Harmony Eagles' 2017 season can be looked upon one of two ways. One on hand, it was the school's best season with a program-best 11 wins. At the same time, Harmony's season was ended in just second round of the playoffs.

However it was judged, Harmony has the potential to surpass last year's accomplishments.

With 16 starters back from an 11-1 team, the Eagles check in at No. 8 in the ETSN.fm's Preseason Class 3A Poll.

Senior running back Barrett Hill returns after rushing for nearly 2,000 yards last season. Position mate Cade McMillon is back as well after going for more than 500 yards on the ground.

Harmony's defense has all but two starters back. Linebacker Easton Blackstone and defensive lineman Jesus Maldonado anchor a unit that allowed just 11 points per game in 2017.

The Eagles have five new district opponents this season, but only one of them made the playoffs a year ago. Harmony is in good shape to walk away district champs.

Harmony, however, joins Region III this year, which could prove problematic in the playoffs. Waskom, Daingerfield, Elysian Fields, and defending state champion Newton are part of one of the toughest regions in the state.
