TATUM -- Beckville swept Tatum ahead of what is expected to be a deep playoff run Friday, 25-21, 25-16, 25-18.

The Ladycats, the first-place seed from District 20-2A, scored 55 points of the 75 points needed to win offensively. They recorded 40 kills, 12 aces and three blocks in the match against the Class 4A competitor. 

Carson Blair led the way with 11 total points, seven kills and four aces. Cassie Elizondo put up a team-best nine kills.

Kassidy Alexander played a hand on 36 points scored with 36 assists through the three sets.

Beckville will face Union Grove in the Class 2A bi-district round Tuesday at 7 p.m. inside Longview's Lobo Coliseum.

Tatum will travel to Central Heights High School to face Diboll at 8 p.m. Monday in the Class 4A bi-district round.

 

Carlisle Squeaks By Hawkins

HAWKINS -- It took extra points in the first two sets, but Carlisle fought off Hawkins for a three-set win in the two team's playoff warm up match.

The Lady Indians won, 26-24, 28-26, 25-19.

Ceci Deleon enjoyed an all-around strong performance in victory. She recorded 28 assists, three aces and a career-high five kills in the match in addition to nine digs on defense.

Julie Smith led Carlisle in total points with 21. Smith scored on 12 kills, six blocks and three aces.

Keylee Adair led the Lady Indians in defense with 20 digs.

Carlisle will face Big Sandy at 7 p.m. Tuesday in its Class 2A bi-district competition. Tyler All Saints will host the match.

Hawkins will take on Overton in its Class 2A bi-district match. Longview's Lobo Coliseum will play host at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
