Tamauzia Brown has been a known-commodity for quite some time.

Brown, a 2019 WR/DB at Newton, is up to 23 Division I scholarship offers after Jacksonville University offered him Monday.

Brown (6-1, 170) also holds major FBS offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Baylor, Houston, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Oregon, TCU, and Texas Tech.

Last season in helping Newton win the Class 3A Division II state championship, Brown starred on both sides of the ball. He finished as East Texas' interceptions leader with 12, while also posting a combined 1,432 yards rushing and receiving and 18 total touchdowns.

Jacksonville competes in the Pioneer Football League of the NCAA's Division I FCS subdivision. The Dolphins finished this past season 7-4.

Brown, like all juniors, is first eligible to sign with any school that offers him beginning in December.
