Quitman Shuts Out Eustace 21-0 in District 7-2A Division I Matchup
EUSTACE -- Colby Peek eclipsed the century mark on the ground to lead Quitman to a 21-0 road shutout of Eustace on Friday night.
Peek ran 19 times for 135 yards and two touchdowns to push Quitman to 2-5 overall and 2-1 in District 7-2A Division I play.
Peek ran for a one-yard second-quarter touchdown and added a 34-yarder in the third that gave Quitman a 21-0 lead it held for the remainder of the game. Daniel Davis ran for 36 yards and a first-quarter touchdown on seven carries, while Rosendo Preciado ran four times for 46 yards as Quitman gained 263 yards on 37 rushes and did not complete either of its two pass attempts.
Clay Carson led Eustace (3-4, 1-2) with 49 yards on 11 carries, while Jesus Barcenas gained 39 yards on 16 totes. Ryan Brown completed 8 of 20 passes for 76 yards and ran for 31 yards on five attempts. Chance Scott caught five passes for 44 yards.
Lone Oak visits Quitman on Friday, while Eustace travels to Winnsboro.
