GREENVILLE -- Riley Russell threw four touchdowns and Texas High shut Greenville out in the second half en route to a 40-20 District 16-5A win on Friday night.

Russell connected with TCU commit Tevailance Hunt twice for touchdowns in the first half and Vonderick Stanley twice in the second half, which helped Texas High pull away after a 20-20 tie at halftime.

Russell, who also led Texas High (5-3, 3-1) in rushing with 62 yards on nine attempts, completed 15 of 24 passes for 269 yards and an interception.

Greenville (5-3, 2-2) quarterback Caleb Jarvis accounted for all three of the Lions' touchdowns, running for a 1-yard touchdown and throwing two scores late in the second half to tie the game at 20-20. He completed 14 of 21 passes for 249 yards and an interception in the loss.

Stanley finished with five catches for 101 yards and Hunt caught three balls for 86 yards for Texas High.

Chris Lyles' 8-yard touchdown run gave Texas High a 20-7 lead with 3:15 in the first half, but Jarvis connected with Christian Dunson for an 18-yard touchdown with 1:42 left and Donavon Smith from 59 yards out 1:33 later.
