HALLSVILLE -- Rodarius Smith ran for 236 yards and three touchdowns and Marshall stayed unbeaten in District 16-5A with a 58-14 rout of Hallsville on Friday night.

Smith paced a Marshall rushing attack that racked up 408 yards on the ground. The Mavericks, how 5-4 on the season and 5-0 in district, finished with 528 yards of offense.

DeKendrick Bender caught a touchdown and ran for another, while Mavericks quarterback threw for 120 yards and a touchdown while also rushing for 61 yards and a score.

Bender finished with two catches for 63 yards and three carries for 48 yards.

The win was Marshall's fifth in a row after starting the season 0-4. The Mavericks finish the regular season next Friday night against Pine Tree and are off Week 11.

Hallsville, which dropped to 1-7 on the season and 1-3 in district, was led by Semaj Boyd's 39 yards passing and a touchdown and Terrence Tita's 21 yards rushing and a score. Tre Fulton paced the Bobcats on the ground with 11 carries for 54 yards.

Isiah Rodgers' only catch of the game was a 9-yard touchdown from Boyd.
